In 1910 he lived with his wife and three children as well as his father in Lafayette Township, Chippewa County, Wisconsin. In 1920 he lived in Marathon County, Wisconsin with his wife and four sons.

The 1900 census listed her as the daughter-in-law of George Steffes but did not indicate which of George’s sons was her husband. However the 1910 census reported that Peter’s wife was named Louise.
In 1930 she lived in Mosinee, Marathon County, Wisconsin with her sons Mike, Frank, and Henry. The Ender-Baldwin site indicates that she had five children with the name Steffes. In 1940 she lived in Mosinee with her husband John Wagner and her son Mike Steffes.
