He immigrated in 1842, arriving on August 20. He became a naturalized citizen. In 1860 he lived in Avon Township, Lorain County, Ohio with his wife, six children, and mother-in-law Margaret Fuhrman. His brother Johann Peter Weber and Johann Peter’s wife lived next door. In 1880 he lived with his wife and seven children in North Amherst, Lorain County. (Four of his children were enumerated in Berlin Heights, Erie County, Ohio in 1880.) In 1900 he and his wife lived in North Amherst. His name was written Webber in the 1900 census. He died when he was hit by a train while walking toward his farm. He apparently didn’t hear or see the train because he was deaf and the train came up behind him.
