On August 20, 1842 he and his four children arrived in New York, New York on the ship “Navigator.” They had departed from Antwerp, Belgium.
In 1850 he lived with three of his children—Emma, Peter, and John Peter, in Avon Township, Lorain County, Ohio. In 1870 he lived with Peter Weber, Peter’s wife Elizabeth and their four children in Sheffield Township, Lorain County. His age was listed as 70.
His tombstone has his birthdate as December 26, 1793.
