Source: Records of St. Martin and St. Severus Catholic Church in Muenstermaifeld. Source of his parents’ names, and his approximate year of birth: Manfred Ruettgers.
His residence was given as Wolken on his marriage record.
He was a baptismal sponsor in 1739 for Gertrud, the daughter of Anton Daum and Anna Goebel of Schrumpf.
According to Manfred Ruettgers, the chapel at Heidger Muehle was built by Hans Jacob Geisen in 1756 and dedicated to St. Jacob. According to the website “Moselschieferstrasse.de,” the roof on the chapel was the oldest original slate roof in Europe when it was replaced in about 1950.
