This family immigrated to Wisconsin sometime between 1847 and 1853.
In 1860 Johann and his wife Elizabeth lived in Marshfield, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin with seven of their children, as well as their daughter Magdalene’s husband Christian Hensgen and their two children. In 1870 he and his wife and six of their children lived in Marshfield. Their son Matthias and his family lived nearby.
