Peter married Mary Minnich, widow of his brother Severine. Peter and Mary were related in two ways:
third cousins—Franz Klee and Johannea Peffer were their gg grandparents; and
third cousins—Anton Ackermann and Margarete Gilles were their gg grandparents.
In 1900 Peter and his family lived in Elyria, Lorain County, Ohio. In 1910 Peter and his wife lived in North Ridgeville, Lorain County with their six children and her daughter Mary C. Ternes.
In 1920 Peter and Mary lived in North Ridgeville with four of their children. A boarder lived there as well. In 1930 Peter lived in North Ridgeville with his daughter Mabel and a lodger, John Rose, who apparently worked on their farm.

In 1870 Mary lived with her parents and Minnich grandparents as well as other family members in North Ridgeville, Lorain County, Ohio. In 1880 she lived with her parents, her grandmother Anna Maria Minnich, and her cousin Anna Weber in North Ridgeville.
After Severine's death, Mary married his younger brother Peter. Her sister Catherine married her brother-in-law Joseph Ternes in 1900.
In 1900 she lived with her second husband and three daughters in Elyria, Lorain County. In 1910 the family lived in North Ridgeville.
The 1910 census reported that Mary had had 10 children, of whom seven were living. Mary died of heart disease.
