He received a number of military awards. In 1951 he was the chief of operational and engineering section for the 7th Bomb Wing of the U.S. Air Force. In 1956 he served at the U.S. Air Force base at Wright Patterson Field in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio.
He died of a heart ailment.
