He and his family lived in Lorain County, Ohio and then moved to Michigan. Jacob became a naturalized citizen. He was also known as John Knieper. According to www.findagrave.com and the Michigan deaths and burials index, his father’s name was Anton.
In 1900 he lived in Maple Grove, Saginaw County, Michigan with his son Henry and daughter Gertrude. In 1910 he lived in Maple Grove with his son Antone and Antone’s family.
