Wilhelm, his mother and his brothers Nicholas, Johann and Anton sailed from Le Havre, France on the ship “Waverly,” arriving in New York, New York on August 28, 1847.
In 1850 Wilhelm lived in Avon, Lorain County, Ohio with his mother and four of his siblings. In 1880 he lived in Salem Township, Allegan County, Michigan with his wife and five children. In 1900 William and his wife lived in Salem Township with their daughter Katherine and her husband Joseph Schumacher. The census reported that he had immigrated in 1852.
