In 1860 he lived with his parents, his grandfather, and three siblings in Avon, Lorain County, Ohio. In 1870 he lived with his parents, his brother Peter and Peter’s family in Avon. In 1880 he lived in Avon with his parents, his brother Peter and Peter’s four children. In 1900 Simon and his wife Anna lived in Avon with eight of their children, his brother Peter, and Peter’s sons Simon and Peter Schwartz. In 1910 he and his wife Anna lived in Avon with their nine children and a nephew, 12-year-old Simon Schwartz, Jr. who was born in Ohio. In 1920 he and his wife lived in Avon with seven of their children. In 1830 Simon lived on Schwartz Road in Avon with three of his children and two grandchildren.
The 1860 census gives his age as 18 but that appears to be an error.
