Her parents were both from Ireland. In 1880 she lived in Elyria, Lorain County, Ohio with the James and Margaret Chapman family. She was a servant. The 1900 federal census reported that she had 11 children, all of whom were living. The 1910 federal census reported that she was a widow with nine living children.
In 1903 she lived on Middle Avenue “at the city limit” in Elyria and her husband was not listed in the city directory. In 1923 she continued to live on Middle Avenue in Elyria.
Her home may have been in that part of Carlisle Township that included part of Elyria.
