She immigrated in 1944. In 1900 Elizabeth lived with her daughters Ernestine and Frances Ludwig in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio. The census reported that she had had 12 children, nine of whom were living. The census reported that Ernestine was her stepdaughter but she was born in November 1881, after Elizabeth married Ferdinand.
