In 1910 he and his wife and son and a stepson, George Okuly, lived in Mountainair, Torrance County, New Mexico. In 1920 he and his wife and son lived in Elyria, Lorain County, Ohio. In 1930 he and his wife Katharine lived in Blue Creek, Paulding County, Ohio, along with her son George and a boarder, Jacob Bell. Jacob had immigrated from Germany in 1894.
In 1935 and 1940 he lived with his son Christopher and his family in Elyria. In 1940 Jake Both, a 52-year-old farmhand from Ohio, lived with the family.
