In 1880 he and his wife and seven children as well as his mother-in-law Margaret Schmidt lived in New Russia Township, Lorain County, Ohio. In 1900 he and his wife and four of their unmarried children, as well as their widowed daughter Catherine Klingshirn and her children Laurence and Genevieve lived in New RussiaTownship. Three of his daughters married sons of Johann Michael Klingshirn and Maria Anna Leinfleder.
