He immigrated to the United States in 1858. In 1880 he and his wife lived in St. Louis (city), Missouri with their daughter Laura, next door to his wife’s parents. In 1900 he and his wife lived in St. Louis (city) with five of their six children. In 1910 he and his wife lived in St. Louis (city) along with their five children. In 1920 they lived in St. Louis (city) with two of their children, as well as their daughter Laura and her husband, and their daughter Genevieve, her husband and son.
