Notes for Albert (Hubert) Suesterhenn
According to Manfred Ruettgers, it was common in the Eifel region to equate the names Hubert and Albert. When he was baptized, this child was called Albert. When he was married, he was called Hubert.
His father’s sister Dorothea Suesterhenn Kerich of Villa Berresheim in Allenz parish was one of his baptismal sponsors. He was living in Wirfus when he married Katharine Deusen Lauxen.
Notes for Katharine (Spouse 1)
Her baptismal sponsors were Katharine Wilhelmi of Hambuch and Anton Rinneberg of Dungenheim.
Notes for Katharine (Spouse 2)
Her baptismal sponsors were Katharine Wilhelmi of Hambuch and Bernard Mohr of Duenfus. She was a baptismal sponsor on Sept. 17, 1759 for Katharine Deusen, daughter of Anton Deusen and Barbara. Katharine Deusen’s marriage to Hubert required a grade 2 dispensation for affinity: Katharine Kalsch who was Hubert’s first wife was Katharine Deusen’s first cousin, the daughter of Peter Kalsch and Eva Fuhrmann who was born in Hambuch in 1734.
The Klotten marriage records for 1775 identify Katharine as “widow Maria Lauxen of Wirfus.”
