She immigrated to Ohio with her parents and siblings in 1855. She became a naturalized citizen of the United States.
Allen Huelskamp has January 1, 1853 as her birthdate. He provided the information that Maria married Peter Dion.
As of 1900 Maria had had five children, all of whom were living. She lived in Elyria, Lorain County, Ohio with her husband Peter Dion, his daughter Rose, and her sons John and Nicholas. In 1910 Mary lived in Elyria, Lorain County, Ohio with her son Nickolas who was married to his stepsister Rose Dion and their son Eugene.
