He immigrated in 1853. Peter and his wife Gertrude Minnich moved from Ohio to Bryant, Indiana in the early 1860s. After Gertrude died in 1870, Peter and his children returned to Sheffield, Lorain County, Ohio and moved in with his in-laws, Mary and John Minnich, where they were enumerated in the 1870 census in North Ridgeville, Lorain County.
