Agnes Gaertner Diederich taught for thirteen years before her marriage in 1941, including teaching gifted and talented children on the radio for the Cleveland Public School System. She returned to teaching and school administration about 1960. In addition to rearing her children, she was active in Catholic Church-related activities, such as the Mothers’ Club of Beaumont School for Girls, serving as president for two years.

In addition to his family and professional activities, Norman Diederich was a member of a number of organizations, including the Serra Club and the Beaumont School for Girls Fathers’ Club. He was the president of the Father’s Club and volunteered for many years at the school from the time his three daughters attended Beaumont until his death. A tree was planted in his memory at the side of Lake Garda on the Beaumont School campus.
